BLUSHER / HIGHLIGHTING
BLUSHER-this is used to give the natural
flushed effect, therefore must be in the perfect place in which on tends to
blush, the easiest way to do this is to get the client to compose a large smile
and with a small amount of blush on a small powder brush, first dab onto the
cheek on the upper rounded part of cheek (apple) once the right amount or
colour has been applied, with powder gently brush across into hairline to blend
in.
HIGHLIGHTING-this is
usually done to compliment and contrast with contouring, therefore is applied
in all the opposite areas and the areas you wish to not only 'highlight' but to
show up more, on camera, in the light etc. Most common areas tend to be upper
cheeks next to eyes, mid forehead, top of nose, cupids bow, chin and sometimes
between cheekbone and jaw to make the contour pop. There are many different
highlighters that can be used, whether it be pressed/loose powder or cream, and
there are also different colours, some are basically translucent powder with a
slight shimmer, some gold, silver, pinky pearlised etc, but make sure one is
chosen that compliments the whole look and does not clash. When applying use a
medium fluffy rounded brush so it blends well as you apply.
