COMPLIMENTARY & CONTRADICTORY HAIR AND MAKE-UP
COMPLIMENTARY HAIR AND MAKE-UP
In these two images, I feel the hair and make-up both compliment each other.
In this image, the model has natural soft waves floating around and away from the face with very soft beige and pink toned make-up. Although it is rather heavy, it has been applied in a way to look very natural; soft blended curved brows, subtle eye liner with lashes, a peachy lip and beautifully blended contour, highlight and blush. Also taking into consideration that this photograph has as well been edited, I still believe the overall styling matches very well.
In this picture which has most probably also been edited, the hair is big, voluminous, wild, back combed curly with no exact parting, whilst the make-up is soft yet bold with metallic smoky eyes, heavy mascara and liner yet soft brows so it is not too heavy with a complimentary big juicy glossy red lip with no definite cupids bow. The overall look is very vampy and sexy and I feel it ties really well together.
In these two images, I feel the hair and make-up both contradict each other.
I feel this overall look is very contradictory as the hair is styled into a big natural afro whilst the make-up is different tones of yellow verging on green and orange. It is all very shiny and glossy and with the choice of those colours it reminds me of a reptile or something amphibious that should be in water. I believe if they wanted that hair, the make-up should have been either sexy or natural and if they wanted that make-up, they should have made the hair slick back and shiny.
Although her make-up has been done really well and she looks stunning, I feel as she has auburn hair, she should not be wearing a magenta toned lipstick it should have either been a lot paler, a pastel pink or a deep raspberry shade. The orange and bright pink vastly clashes. Although the make-up itself, the eyes, base and lips look great together the colours do not compliment the hair colour or style. It should be down and wavy and be soft and gentle round the face similar to the make-up whereas instead is is harshly scraped back.
